Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) is a gentle, hands-on healing practice that originated in Japan in the early 1900s through Dr. Mikao Usui. The word Reiki means Universal Life Energy — the natural life force that flows through all living things and supports balance, harmony, and well-being.
Reiki works by supporting the body’s innate ability to restore balance on physical, emotional, mental, and energetic levels. Through gentle touch, Reiki helps calm the nervous system, release energetic blockages, and invite the body into a state where healing can occur more easily.
Reiki is not something you simply “learn” from a book — it is a practice developed through experience, presence, and mindful application.
Learning Reiki is both a personal and practical journey. Students are often drawn to Reiki to support their own healing, deepen self-awareness, or learn how to help others in a meaningful way.
